Clean Water. Instigating the ripple effect.

785 million.

The number of people who lack access to clean drinking water globally.

800+

The number of children under the age of 5 who die every day from water-related diarrhoea.

2.3 billion.

The number of people who live without access to basic sanitation.

Problem.

Without clean, easily accessible water, entire families and communities become locked in the cycle of poverty for generations.

Process.

The OpBlue Clean Water Project was created with the goal of providing underprivileged communities across the globe with access to clean water - a basic human right that is denied to too many.

We have three key ways that we work to abolish the global water crisis:

  • Our most common clean water solution is the implementation of Sawyer Products filtration systems. Simple, easy, and effective, one Sawyer filter can provide safe and clean drinking water for up to 100 people for 10 years if maintained properly; a process our OpBlue in-country team works hard to educate recipients on. These filters remove viruses, protozoa, and micro plastics.

    How we achieve this:

Identify project areas with high levels of waterborne disease

Define specific plans that address community needs

    Implement our solutions

Monitor projects to ensure longevity and greatest benefit

Report and analyse the short and long term impact

Commit to long-term relationships and building sustainability within communities.

  • Water and sanitation are critical determinants of survival during the initial stages of a natural disaster, yet access to them can be limited and in most cases, instantly inaccessible.

Our Disaster Relief Program responds to the tragic aftermath of natural disasters by providing fast and effective clean water solutions to areas impacted. We are proud to have solutions that are easily and rapidly accessible when time is critical following these disasters. These solutions are comprised predominantly of bucket filtration systems using SP180 water filters that are both portable and highly efficient, providing clean water for up to 100 people per filter.

We partner with key organisations in impacted communities to provide rapid relief when it is needed most.

    Partner projects:

    Timor Leste

    Indonesia

    Myanmar

    Philippines

    Kenya

  • Our postage programs freights methods of filtration to hospitals and communities in dire need of clean water around Kenya.

This ensures effective and efficient delivery of systems to areas that we are unable to reach through our team on the ground, and can often be to remote regions that are in desperate need.

Impact.

Our goal is to provide a rapid and effective response for those in greatest need.

  • With access to clean water, a ripple effect begins, healthier communities means more time in school for children, and the ability to earn an income for adults. Clean water is an essential foundation to build sustainable communities and initiate change.
